Asuncion “Chon” Jimenez, 66, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Rural Stevens County, KS.
He was the son of Luis Jimenez and Fransica Gallegos. He was born on May 22, 1952 in Julimes, Mexico.
Chon Jimenez and Maria Lourdes have been together for 20 years and were married on February 28, 2006 in Elkhart, KS.
He loved working at the Sunbelt feedlot, he worked there for 20 years. He retired in January and continued working at Supreme. He loved to rope and his animals at home. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids while riding horses. Luis and Chon liked rope together and work on the ranch.
He was a member of the Point Rock Riders of Elkhart, KS. He loved to ride his horses in the Stevens County parades and Pioneer Days Parade.
Survivors include wife Maria Jimenez of Hugoton, KS; five sons, Gabriel Jimenez and wife Barbie, Winfield, KS., Shawn Jimenez and wife Kayla, Woodward, OK., Marcus Bucher and wife Megan, Hays, KS., Daniel Bucher, Hays, KS., Luis Jimenez, Hugoton, KS.; six daughters, Sandra Fenelon, Hannah Buck Grunwald, Erica De Leon, Angela Bucher, Manhattan, KS., Adriana Bucher, Manhattan, KS., Briana Bucher, Manhattan, KS; brother, Manuel Jimenez, Mexico; two sisters, Socorro Jimenez, Mexico, Talila Gonzales, Mexico. Nineteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gregorio Jimenez; sister, Ines Jimenez; daughter, Susana Jimenez.
Memorials have been established for his son Luis Jimenez Education Fund. Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home-PO BOX 236- Hugoton, KS 67951.
Rosary service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 7 PM at St. Helen Catholic Church, Hugoton, KS.
Mass Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, Hugoton, KS.
Viewing will be on Wednesday 4 PM to 8 PM and Thursday 10 AM to 5 PM at Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
