Andrew E. Larson IV, a devoted farmer, community leader, and family man, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Andrew E. and Jean Margaret (Thompson) Larson; Andrew lived a life rooted deeply in faith, hard work, and service to others.

He embraced his calling as a farmer with unwavering dedication and perseverance. Continuing his father's legacy, Andrew nurtured the land with care and passion, providing for his family and fostering the growth of seed crops. Today, his children carry on that passion, honoring his commitment and love for agriculture.

Education was a foundation upon which Andrew built his life. He graduated from Garden City High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from Colorado State University. His academic achievements complemented his practical knowledge and fueled his lifelong devotion to farming.

On January 2, 1959, he married the love of his life, Jean Ann (Ware) Larson in Raton, New Mexico. Their marriage lasted 59 years until her passing in 2018.

Andrew was a man of great heart, known for fiercely loving his family and guiding them with wisdom and faith. He taught his children values of right and wrong and instilled in them a commitment to Faith and Church, which was an integral part of his own life.

His contributions extended far beyond his farm. A member of the Faith Community Church, Andrew’s leadership and compassion touched many in the community. For nearly five decades, he served on the Kansas State Conservation Commission, holding the position of Commissioner, he was a member from 1978 until 2025. His steadfast dedication was also evident in his work with the Kansas Association of Conservation Districts as a Supervisor throughout the same years.

Andrew’s commitment to education and community development was further demonstrated through his service on the Holcomb District School Board and his instrumental role in the construction of a new library through the Library Board. He was a devoted youth group leader at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City and generously gave his time as a Boy Scout Leader. His love of music found expression as a member of the Chancel Choir, where he shared his true passion for singing.

Andrew is survived by his beloved family who carry forward his legacy: two sons, Karl Larson and wife Sherry of Friend, Kansas, and Kenyon Larson of Garden City, Kansas; one chosen son, Lonnie Russell and wife Dana of Garden City, Kansas; one daughter, Andrea Tauscher and husband Rocky of Pawnee Rock, Kansas; one sister, Karin Henkle and husband Richard of Garden City, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, Jessamyn and husband Rick Staples, Levi and wife Julie Garrison, David Larsen, Devin and wife Amber Larsen, Karl Larson Jr., Karly Larson, Corey Larson, Carie Larson, Collin Larson, Aidan Larson-Unruh, Kelly and husband Clay Lazar, Austin Russell and ten great-grandchildren, Remi, Finley, Madden, Scarlette, Malachi, Brynlee, Michael, Brayden, Mason, Kassady; along with many other cherished family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean Ann Larson; his parents; one brother, Jon Larson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives.

In memory of Andrew E. Larson IV, memorials can be made payable to Faith Community Church Building Fund and/or Finney County Conservation District, in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 North Main Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Robson Funeral Home, 620 North Main Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Robson Funeral Home, Garden City, Kansas.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, Kansas.

Andrew E. Larson IV’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, faith, community, and the land he cherished. He leaves behind a profound legacy of service, love, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
