Anita was born September 17, 1953 to Laurence and Margaret Hahn in Garden City, Kansas.  She completed her high school education in Garden City.  Anita married Frank Pfeiff.  She then married her best friend, Ron Coates.  He precedes her in death.  She then married Les Ummel in 2002.  He survives.

Anita was the proud mother of Stacy Fickel and Becky Meng, but she was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandson.  Anita worked in food service most of her working life.  She cooked at Holcomb schools for many years and then the Juvenile Detention Center.  Anyone that knew Anita would know they were in for a treat when she cooked and baked.   Everything was made from scratch and her hands kneaded thousands of pounds of dough throughout her life.   Anita’s (Neet) house was the gathering place for family and friends for cookouts, fish fry’s and pool parties.   When Anita was able, you could find her out dancing, either at a wedding or parties or when one of her favorite local bands was playing.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Margaret, her husband and best friend Ron Coates, brothers, Norbert, Leonard, Stephen and Marion Hahn;  sisters, Mary Predmore and Joyce Butler.   Anita is survived by her husband, Les Ummel; daughters, Stacy Fickel and husband Bruce;  Becky Meng; grandchildren, Colt Hurley, Tate Hurley, Johnny Lucas, Bailey Reagan and husband Dylan; Alli Meng; great grandson, Forrest Reagan; sisters, Elaine Gross, Rose Dixon and Louise Simon.
