Obituary for Barbara Jean "Barb" Williams (Munson)

DATELINE- HUGOTON, KS

BARBARA JEAN (MUNSON) WILLIAMS

Barbara Jean (Munson) Williams, 67, passed away on Saturday morning, November 24, 2018 at her residence.

Barbara was the daughter of Herman & Iva Jean (Palmer) Munson. She was born on August 2, 1951 in Liberal, Kansas.

Barbara and Duane Williams were married on March 18, 1995 at Moscow Baptist Church, Moscow, Kansas.

She was a member of Satanta Baptist Church of Satanta.

Barbara loved life, she loved people especially those who were young, hurting or just needed of a little help. She was a true servant. She loved spending time with her husband Duane. They would travel around and didn’t have to go too far away to enjoy time together. One of her greatest joys was getting to travel to Clayton, NM to minister and sing to the prisoners. Barbara had so much talent with singing and playing her guitar. She loved to go nursing homes, hospitals and to people’s homes to sing. Barbara enjoyed sewing and made numerous quilt’s that she would just give to people in exchange to see joy a quilt brought to someone. Having someone cover up with a quilt for her was like being able to hug them when she wasn’t even there. Barbara made and donated over 200 small pillows to Hope Lodge in Kansas City for those who had a port put in for chemo to help them be able to put a pillow under their seat belt so the belt wouldn’t rub and they could be comfortable. Barbara greatest joys were being able to help minister to the little ones at church. She loved TeamKids and loved youth camp and getting to teach kid about Jesus in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Barbara enjoyed baking cakes and cookies. Barbara loved to garden and she and Duane would can everything that they grew. Barbara and Duane loved to bless people with vegetables and with all the pickles and sauces she could make. She taught so many of us to living each day to the fullest.
She fought a good fight and she won the race, not this sickness. She is now looking into the eyes of our Lord and Savior and he is saying well done my good and faithful servant.

Survivors include, husband Duane Williams of the home, a son Troy Zuraff, Purcell, OK.; a daughter, Jennifer Turpin & husband Gregg, Liberal, KS.; mother, Iva Jean Munson, Satanta, KS.; two brothers, Kenneth Munson & wife, Parma, Sublette, KS., Darroll Munson & wife Susan, Moscow, KS.; Janie Gilbert, Moscow, KS.; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
