Carlos Janai Cruz-Bojorquez
October 30, 2026 | 40 Years Old
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos Janai Cruz-Bojorquez, who left this world on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Garden City, Kansas, at the age of 40.
Carlos was born in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. He lived in Ejido Jesús Lugo, Municipio de Guerrero, Chihuahua, until July 1994, when his family moved to Garden City, Kansas.
Carlos was the fun uncle, the silly, big brother, and he never knew a stranger. Full of energy and always joking, Carlos had a way of making everyone laugh. His smile and happy personality will not be forgotten.
Carlos loved the moon, stars, and planets and could spend hours having meaningful conversations about God and life. He was a Denver Broncos fan, avid gamer, and loved capturing beautiful sunsets from the windshield view of his semi. Carlos cherished his pets, especially his Siamese cat, Meow Meow. He loved the beach and experienced a profound sense of peace during the one time he was able to visit.
Carlos was a very hard worker and took great pride in doing every job well and efficiently. He worked as a truck driver for IBA Dairy Depot. He believed in doing things right and could always be counted on.
Carlos and Ashelei first met when they were just 15 years old in Garden City and married on October 27, 2005. They had just celebrated their 21st anniversary and had lived most of their lives together. Carlos loved Ashelei fiercely and was her best friend. Their love was a defining part of his life.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Ashelei Cruz of Garden City, Kansas; father Carlos Cruz-Rodriguez of Garden City, Kansas; mother Noema Bojorquez-Dominguez of Garden City, Kansas; brother Erik Cruz-Bojorquez and wife Janesa Cruz of Garden City, Kansas; mother-in-law Barbara Fickle of McCook, Nebraska; father-in-law Jesus Fernandez-Ayala and wife Criselda of Lubbock, Texas; brother-in-law Stephen Furtado and wife Abigayl of McCook, Nebraska; sister-in-law Laura Pulido of McCook, Nebraska; sister-in-law Brittney Jara and husband Luis of Lubbock, Texas; brother-in-law Bryan Briggs of Lubbock, Texas.
He also leaves behind his grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
Book Signing will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, Garden City, Kansas.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at Robson Funeral Home, Garden City, Kansas.
