Cruz Antonio Garcia-Rivera, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Woodward, Oklahoma, at the age of 47.
He was born on April 17, 1977, in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico, to his parents, Maria Manuela Rivera and Cruz Garcia.
Cruz and Lacey Renee Farris were married on April 14, 2017, in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Cruz was known for his fun and loving personality. He embraced life with a passion that was evident in everything he did. As a dedicated mechanic, he found joy in fixing up cars and relished the thrill of working outside, which often complemented his love for collecting a variety of items. His fondness for '80s rock music was a testament to his love for the energetic and memorable moments of that era, creating a soundtrack to his joyous life. Cruz's warmth and caring nature were reflected in his role as a family man.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Lacey Garcia; their daughter, Amaya Allen; and his beloved grandson, Atreus Quintana, of the home; Cruz also leaves behind his mother, Maria Manuela Rivera; his father, Cruz Garcia. He was supported by a close-knit family that included his brothers, Gabino Garcia and wife Crystal, Miguel Garcia and wife Siearra, and Rodrigo Garcia. His sisters, Blanca Lujan and husband Ramon, Librada Garcia, Birginia Deloya and husband Jesus, Juana Gutierrez and husband Jorge, and Lucy Aguilera; mother-in-law, Marie Wyer and husband Jackie; father-in-law, Dale Farris and wife Charolette; sister- in-laws, Delaini Delacerda and husband Amos, Linsay Snyder and husband Nick; brother-in-law, Lucas Johnson; and many nieces and nephews – and aunts and uncles, who he loved with all his heart and will miss him dearly as well. Cruz is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends who cherished him.
Cruz was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunt Martha, and uncle Jesus, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life.
Memorials have been established for Children's Mercy Hospital and Woof Pet Rescue, Woodward, Oklahoma, in care of Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M., at Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11 A.M. at First Christian Church of Hugoton.
