Edith N. Wyatt, 62, of Pierceville, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 17, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at Pierceville Federated Church.  203 E. Avenue A, Pierceville, KS 67868. Burial will follow in Pierceville Township Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Books on the Bus "B.O.B." c/o Garden City Public Schools, 1205 Fleming, Garden City, KS 67846.

Edith was born July 21, 1961, to Dale and Jessie (Horton) Lightner in Garden City.  She was a lifelong Finney County resident and graduated from Garden City High School in 1979.  After graduating high school, Edith married Patrick Wyatt on March 20, 1982. Edith and Patrick quickly settled into family life. Edith enjoyed farm life spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Luke and Logan. She went to work as a bus driver for USD 457 where she logged over 100,000 miles and retired after 37 years. She looked forward to seeing the kids’ bright smiling faces each morning and afternoon. During the summer she continued to serve the children by driving BOB the Book Bus to area neighborhoods.  

Edith is survived by her husband Patrick Wyatt; children, Samantha Parish and husband Phillip; Vanessa Wyatt; Jacob Wyatt; Christina Beltz and husband Joe; Rebecca Wyatt and fiancé Maverick Stapleton; grandsons, Luke and Logan Parish; sisters, Vivian Wehkamp and Irma Reimer; brothers, Lloyd Lightner; Gerald Lightner; Robert Lightner and Kyle Lightner.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Rush.
