He was born on May 18, 1932, in Moses, New Mexico, to his parents, Catarino and Santos (Martinez) Trujillo. Felix led a life rooted in hard work, integrity, and an abiding love for his family and the outdoors.

From the earliest days of his youth in New Mexico to his many years in Kansas, Felix was known for his unwavering character and loving spirit. He enjoyed roping and horseback riding and took pride in being an “outdoor man.” Family travels were among his most cherished experiences, as Felix, Eloise, and their children ventured on camping trips that led them across all 50 states, creating treasured memories along the way. Above all, Felix poured his energy and joy into the lives of his daughters and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to attend their school events and celebrate their accomplishments.
