Glenna Jean Coulter (Forward)

July 17, 1922 — May 11, 2021

Friends and family gathered Monday to celebrate the life of Glenna Jean Coulter. Mrs Coulter, age 98 and lifetime resident of Stevens County, passed from this life Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.

The daughter of Glenn Lee Forward and the former Anna Helena Helfrich, Jean was born July 17, 1922 in Goddard. Her family moved to Stevens County when Jean was just two years old.

October 17, 1942, Jean married Harold Addison "Sonny" Coulter in Liberal. Sonny and Jean farmed for most all of their lives They were joined later by their son Rex who farmed along with them, and later their grandson Travis joined their farming business. For the last ten years together, Son and Jean got to travel and saw a lot of different places in their motor home before Sonny's death in 1998.

Jean's hobbies included sewing, crocheting, knitting, cooking, golfing, bowling and fishing. She was a very active lady and a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan! Jean also helped out at The Hermes on Wednesday afternoons for a few years. She is very missed.

Jean loved spending time with her family just as much they enjoyed spending time with her. She was a very special lady loved by many. Jean also loved taking care of and seeing about her siblings.

Mrs. Coulter was a member of the First Christian Church in Hugoton having been baptized by her grandson-in-law Jason Teeter many years ago.

Survivors include son Rex Coulter and wife RoGlenda of Hugoton; two daughters, Toni Hamlin and husband Jack of Moscow and Dona Rae Kirk and husband Jess of Waxahachie, Tx.; two brothers, Wayne Forward and wife Mary Ann and Charles Forward and wife Evalean, all of Hugoton; her sister Mildred Moser of Hugoton; five grandchildren, Teri Kelley and husband Ken of Yukon, Ok. Stacie Robertson and husband Jason of Andrews, Tx., Jacque Teeter and husband Jason of Hugoton, Justin Hamlin of Rosehill and Travis Coulter and significant other Christy Haar of Hugoton; 12 great grandchildren, Lindsy Kelley, Dustin Kelley and wife Kaylee, Colter Robertson, Jacob Teeter and wife Hailey, Jaxon Teeter, Jadon Teeter, Easton Hamlin, Lane Hamlin, Karson Hamlin, Taylor Mason and husband Chris, Sahayla Haar and Breckyn Haar; five great great grandchildren, Kyran, Lynden, Caiden, Skylar and Brantley; step great granddaughter Courtney Fechner and family; and her many other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Maxine Phillips, Dula Hughes and JoAnn Sessler; and great granddaughter Jeana Marie Teeter.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021, 2 PM to 8 PM with family present from 2 to 4 at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 17, 2021, 2 PM, First Christian Church, Hugoton, with pastor Tim Singer presiding. Burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery under the direction of Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton.

A memorial has been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities- Love From Above- in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
