Harry Dean Nolde

Harry Dean Nolde passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 83. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Berthoud, Colorado to John Henry Nolde and Helen Ruth (Wagner) Nolde. Harry enjoyed good health throughout most of his life until the last few months. Surrounded by love and held in faith, Harry peacefully went home to be with the Lord.

Harry spent his school years in Berthoud, Colorado, attending grade school through high school there. He then continued his education at Trinidad State College, where he earned an associate’s degree in Auto Mechanics in 1964. In his working life, he spent many years in agricultural fields with ADM and Western Alfalfa, building a career marked by dedication and steady commitment.

Harry married Mary Louise Rea on June 23, 1962, in Loveland, Colorado. They moved from Colorado to Southwest Kansas in 1978.

Harry was a member of Bible Christian Church of Garden City and was a deacon.

Beyond his work, Harry was a photographer for many years and took pictures for the YMCA, Holcomb, and the Garden City Recreation Commission. It seems like he took wedding photos for a lot of weddings in Southwest Kansas. He found joy in capturing moments and preserving memories for others, a reflection of his warm and generous spirit.

Harry will be remembered as a big teddy bear—funny, kind, and the sweetest man. He loved having his family around and especially enjoyed when everyone came home. His wife Mary was deeply cherished, and among his proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Nolde, Wichita, Kansas; a son, Ivan Nolde and wife Tammie, Lincoln, Nebraska; two daughters, Kristina Bridgeman and husband Benjamin, Wichita, Kansas, Lara Goodwin and husband Jay, Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Donald Nolde and wife Diana, Loveland, Colorado, Ronald Nolde and wife Mariann, Wellington, Colorado; four sisters, Kathern Werner, Denver, Colorado, Bonnie Busse and husband Eldred, Loveland, Colorado, Pauline Newmeyer, Loveland, Colorado, Dixie Moore, Visita, Colorado and 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, and a great-grandchild.

A memorial has been established for the Finney County Humane Society, in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Kansas, 67846.

A book signing for Harry will be held at Robson Funeral Home in Garden City on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Bible Christian Church in Garden City on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Kansas.
