Henry Dale Smith passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Moscow, Kansas, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family and his work as a rancher and farmer.

Henry was born on October 24, 1942, in McDonald County, Missouri, to Silas Joseph and Flora Nancy (Vinzant) Smith

Henry and Glenda Joyce were married on July 22, 1961, in the United Methodist Church in Moscow, Kansas. Throughout his life, Henry exhibited a deep commitment to his family. He cherished his children and grandchildren, fostering strong bonds that will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His passion for farming and ranching was matched only by his talent for making quilts for family and friends, a testament to his creative spirit and caring nature.

Henry also served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, an experience that shaped his character and underscored his commitment to service. His life reflected hard work, nurturing relationships, and a profound love for his family.

He is survived by his son, Darwin Smith of Pocola, Oklahoma; a daughter, Tia Bell and her husband Craig of Moscow, Kansas; and a sister, Flora Mae Phillips of Joplin, Missouri. Henry also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Jacob Bell and Caroline Smith, along with relatives and friends who loved and admired him.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Glenda Joyce, who departed on November 20, 2024. He is also mourned by the memories of his brothers, Jack, John, Jim, and Sie Smith, as well as a sister, Rhoda McArthur.

Memorials have been established for the Moscow Fellowship Church and Disabled American Veterans, in care of Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. and Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 10 A.M. at Moscow Christian Fellowship Church, Moscow, presided over by Pastor Patty Lahey, and burial to follow at Moscow Cemetery, Moscow. Southwest Kansas Veterans Funeral Honor Guard and the United States Army will conduct Military Honors.

Henry Dale Smith's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and his deep commitment to the land. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the stories, memories, and quilts he left behind.
