Israel Rodriguez Pimentel, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 79.
Israel was born on February 22, 1946, in Penjamillo, Michoacan, Mexico, to his parents, Jose Antonio Pimentel Ramirez and Domitila Rodriguez Morales. Israel lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a deep connection to his family.
Israel Rodriguez Pimentel and San Juana Solorio de Pimentel were married on October 13, 1965, in Zinaparo, Michoacan, Mexico.
Israel is remembered fondly for his playful spirit, particularly enjoying the banter with his beloved wife, San Juana Solorio de Pimentel. He approached life with a joyful heart, often teasing those around him, and these memories will be cherished by his family for years to come. A devoted husband and father, he had a clear passion for nurturing those he loved, and his homemade tortillas were a special treat that brought the family together.
His interests were diverse and enriched his life; he enjoyed activities such as fishing, working on cars, traveling, gardening, and playing musical instruments, including the guitar and keyboard. An avid sports fan, Israel found joy in watching both football and soccer, sharing these moments with family and friends.
Israel is survived by his wife, San Juana Solorio de Pimentel of Dodge City, KS.; three sons, Sacramento Pimentel and wife, Elsie of Burlington, CO.; David Pimentel and wife Tanya of Garden City, KS.; Jerardo Pimentel and wife, Becky of Burlington, CO.; as well as five daughters, Guadalupe Solis and husband Carlos of Dodge City, KS.; Rosa Maria Mota of Garden City, KS.; Maria Isabel Peraza and husband Saul of Wichita, KS.; Cleo Hawkins of Dodge City, KS.; and Maria Domitila Pimentel of Dumas, TX. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, each of whom was loved deeply.
In addition to his surviving family, Israel is also mourned by his brother, Jose Pimentel Rodriguez; two sisters, M. Concepcion Pimentel and Adelaida Pimentel; along with numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Israel's life was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Delia Pimentel, brothers Santiago, Isaias, Antonia, Antonio, sister Yolanda Pimentel, and son-in-law Jose Franciso Mota. The impact he made on the lives of those around him will remain a cherished memory.
Memorials have been established for the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 12:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, Kansas.
Rosary will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, Kansas.
Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, Kansas. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.
Israel Rodriguez Pimentel leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and while his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
