Janet Lynn Kilgore, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Liberal, Kansas, at 73.
Janet was born on April 20, 1952, in Liberal, Kansas, to her parents, Rex Logsdon and Wilma Jean (Phillips) Brown. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally as a registered nurse and personally as a devoted family member.
Janet and Richard Kilgore were married on September 1, 1982, in Hugoton, Kansas.
Janet's career as a registered nurse spanned many years, during which she touched the lives of countless patients with her compassion, dedication, and kindness. Her caring spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a nurturing presence in her grandchildren's lives, often taking them on memorable trips and creating lasting memories. Janet found immense joy as a grandmother, celebrating life’s little moments with her family.
She deeply loved gardening, baking, and finding joy in putting puzzles together. Her passion for animals was also notable, as she shared her life with several beloved dogs, including her last companion, Leah, who was a testament to her loving nature.

Janet is survived by her two sons, Rex Evans and Shelby, and Brad Evans and wife Kristine, both of Hugoton, Kansas. She also leaves behind her stepdaughters, Cindy Cram and Charla Roehr; her brother-in-law, Dale Britton of Moore, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren—Zach Cram, Lindsey Cram, Brittani Roehr, Nick Evans, Bailee Kiley, Lyla Evans, Myka Evans, and Analise Price; and two great-grandchildren, Carter Kiley and Myles Kiley. Janet's legacy also encompasses her nieces, Kelle Gaske and Cristine Pearson, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Kilgore, and her sister, Karen Britton, who all played significant roles in her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stevens County Memorial Hall, located at 200 E 6th St, Hugoton, Kansas 67951. Janet was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as her legacy of love and care continues to inspire those who were fortunate to share in her life.
Cremation has been entrusted to Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton.
