built a life centered on family, work, and the people he loved most
Jason David Kendall, 51, died on October 27, 2026, in Hugoton, Kansas. He was born on January 9, 1975, in Garden City, Kansas.
Jason was raised in Finney County, Kansas, and built a life centered on family, work, and the people he loved most. For more than fifteen years, he worked with dedication for CARQUEST in Hugoton, Kansas, a reflection of his strong work ethic. He was a loving father and grandfather who treasured time with his children as much as possible. He enjoyed listening to music and simply talking with his loved ones; his family meant everything to him.
One of the most meaningful parts of Jason’s life was the close bond he shared with his parents, David M. Piper and Carol E. (Scavo) Piper. On April 23, 2014, they officially adopted Jason, making legal what had already been true in their hearts for many years: they were a family. Jason loved his parents deeply, and that love was returned wholeheartedly. Their bond remained a special and important part of his life.
Jason leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love. He is survived by his children, Xana Kendall, Wolfgang Kendall, and Iris Kendall, all of Holcomb, Kansas; his stepson, Seth Escalante of Garden City, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Scarlett and Mavis Kendall, and Luciano and Marciano Escalante. He is also survived by his parents, David M. Piper and Carol E. (Scavo) Piper of Hugoton, Kansas; his brother Nathan Piper and his wife, Ida Marie, of Hugoton, Kansas; his sister Destanie Veach and her husband, Michael, of Leoti, Kansas; his brother Anthony Piper of Garden City, Kansas; his brother Steven Piper and wife, Stephanie, of Mansfield, Texas; his sister Ta-ah Stinnett of Buena Vista, Colorado; his sister Angela Piper of Hugoton, Kansas; and his sister Nicole Swanson and her husband, Josh, of Hugoton, Kansas. He will be remembered with affection by all who knew him and by the family members whose lives were brightened by his love and presence.
