Jorge Luis Varela of Garden City, Kansas passed away at Wesley Medical in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 48.
The echoes of his life will resonate through time as family and friends gather to honor his memory. A moment for farewells and reflections is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Robson Funeral Home in Garden City. In loving tribute, the family will be available to receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., fostering unity and support during this time of loss. The ceremonial farewell celebrating Jorge's life will be held at the Word of Life Church on Friday, June 28th at 11 a.m., where heartfelt memories will be shared.
Following the service, Jorge will find eternal rest in the comforting embrace of Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. For those wishing to pay homage through contributions, the family suggests donations to the Jorge Varela Memorial Fund in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas.
Jorge's legacy extends beyond his departure; it lives on through the touching moments and profound connections he forged during his lifetime. His passion led him to attain a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Kansas Wesleyan University—where he also dedicated his spirit to college baseball between 1995 and 1996. Baseball was his enjoyment and he led that passion to his children.
In his professional journey as a sales representative for Commercial Tire of Garden City, Jorge found fulfillment in connecting with people and serving their needs with warmth and dedication. Beyond his professional commitments, Jorge exemplified generosity by nurturing young talents as he coached his children's Little League Baseball teams—a testament to his enduring love for the sport.
Jorge leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his loved ones: His dear parents Jaime and Yolanda Varela; his beloved girlfriend Nylia Duchesne; his adored children Jace Varela, Joaquin Varela, and Jaia Varela; alongside three supportive brothers: Jaime Varela; Javier Varela; Chris Varela.
While Jorge embarks on his next journey beyond our reach, memories of his cherished best friend Rocko Talley accompany him. He reunites with departed grandparents Catalina and Eumelio Varela; maternal grandfather Manuel Cabrera; Aunt Rosario Varela; as well as uncles Alfredo Varela; Jorge Cabrera; and Jorge Luis Cabrera who await him beyond this realm.
