Katherine Loraine Butler

Katherine Loraine Butler, 74, of Garden City, Kansas passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Garden Valley Retirement Home with her children by her side.  A celebration of Katherine’s life will be 11:45 a.m. Saturday, February 4^th, 2023 at the Robson Funeral Home in Garden City, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS.  The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Finney County Senior Center c/o Robson Funeral Home. 

Katherine was born July 29, 1948 to the late Boniface and Rosa Peters in Garden City, Kansas.  She graduated from Garden City High School in 1966 then went on to attend college at Garden City Community College.  She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed spending time at the Garden City Senior Center.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Peters, sister Mary Ann Nelson and niece Vonda Hatcher Fraker.

Katherine is survived by her children, Kathie Base and husband Rodney; Sammy Matthews, Jr. and wife Terri; Eddie Butler and wife Christy; Kristina Butler.  Her grandchildren, Erik Base and wife Lauren; Dustin Base and wife Melinda; Kenyon Base and Manon; Bonnie and Clyde Matthews; Chad Butler; Nick Butler; Shadow Butler and wife Maria; Travis Kessler, Jr; brother, Lawrence Peters; nieces Shirley Hatcher Krisher and family; Michelle Matson and husband Chris; nephews Michael Hatcher and Mike Peters and 11 great grandchildren.
