Larry Dwayne Quillen, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on March 29, 1961, in Hugoton, Kansas. He passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family and friends.

Larry graduated from Hugoton High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Navy, where he spent six honorable years as a Spy Radar Technician. His commitment to service earned him several commendations, including the Good Conduct Award and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. After concluding his military career, Larry continued to work in the same field as a civilian in Maine, and he even spent a year in Japan, broadening his horizons before returning to his roots.

Upon his return to Hugoton, Larry joined Seaboard Foods, where he served as a maintenance technician for many years until his retirement. He took pride in his work and was respected by his colleagues for his skills and dedication.

Larry's personality was warm and welcoming, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. His love for his family was evident, and he found joy in collecting firearms. He treasured each moment shared with loved ones.

Larry is survived by his beloved mother, Carol Quillen; his brother, Bryan Quillen, and sister-in-law, Renee, all of Hugoton, Kansas. He also leaves behind four nieces, Cassandra Loomis and husband Patrick, Kelsey Langley and husband Nick, Kiara Quillen and companion Darien Hargett, and Addyson West; a nephew, Braydon West; three great-nieces; six great-nephews; and other relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, William Larry Quillen; his brother, Bobby Dean Quillen; his paternal grandparents, Delmer and Maxine Quillen; and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Velda Sandusky.

Memorial has been established for St. Jude's Hospital in care of Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951

A visitation will take place on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton, Kansas. 

A graveside service to honor Larry's life will be held at Hugoton Cemetery on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bergen Morris. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and Southwest Kansas Honor Guard. 

Larry Dwayne Quillen will be remembered not only for his military service and professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering love for his family and friends. His spirit will live on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.
