Luis Maravilla Zúñiga Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home in Hugoton, Kansas. Born on August 22, 1952, to Reyes and Eulalia (Zúñiga) Maravilla, Luis dedicated much of his life to his work and family.
He was a skilled welder at Double T Industries in Rolla, Kansas, where he worked until his retirement. Known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail, Luis took great pride in his craft.
Luis and his wife, Maria (Guzman) Maravilla, lovingly raised four children together. Their family grew to include twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought joy and warmth to his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria; his children, Olga Don Juan and her husband Odilon, Alberto Maravilla, Ricardo Maravilla and his wife April; daughter-in-law Edith Maravilla; six brothers—Victor, Alvaro, Ruben, Roberto “Beto,” Juan, and Ernesto; one sister, Adela; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes and Eulalia Maravilla, his infant brother, and his son, Jose Luis Maravilla Jr.
A memorial fund has been established in his honor: the Luis Maravilla Sr. Memorial Fund, cared for by Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Robson Funeral Home, 314 S. Van Buren Street, Hugoton, Kansas.
The Rosary Vigil will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Hugoton, Kansas. Burial will follow at Rolla Cemetery in Rolla, Kansas.

Luis will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his dedication, kindness, and the love he shared with his family and community.
