Manuel Richard Beltran Jr.

Manuel Richard Beltran Jr. entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on February 1, 1941, in Garden City to Manuel R. Beltran Sr. and Sara (Calderon) Beltran.

He graduated from Garden City High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and track, and was also a member of the Robed Choir.

Manuel was married to Rose M. Rojas on April 20, 1963, at St. Mary’s of Garden City, Kansas.

He lived a long life centered on work, family, and the community around him, and he will be remembered with deep love by those who knew him.

Manuel worked as a carpenter for Collins Furniture and Robinsons Furniture for many years, and he enjoyed his work with both stores. His skill with his hands and his dedication to his craft were an important part of his life. He also dedicated 52 years to officiating basketball games, serving as a referee at the recreation, junior high, high school, and collegiate levels. Through that role, he was part of many games and many seasons, bringing his presence and commitment to the sport across generations of players.

Above all, Manuel’s proudest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his children, Arlene Reick; Manuel Beltran III; Traci L. Romero; Kelly and Nathan Widows; Janeine and Brian Sperry; Richard Beltran and Christi. He also leaves behind a cherished circle of grandchildren: Andrew Kells, Kraig Wilson, Lathair Romero, Kyle Romero, Alexander Beltran, David Renick, Emanuel Beltran, Anthony Romero, Jakob Widows, Derek Beltran, Thomas Beltran, Kaverly Renick, Melinda Mano, Kayla Vasquez, Kayle Rodriguez, and Brandi Romero. Each of them was part of the family that brought him great pride and lasting joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rose M. Rojas; granddaughter, Audra Romero. Their memory remains a part of his family’s story and of the love that surrounded him throughout his life.

A memorial has been established for Manuel Richard Beltran Jr. in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, Kansas 67846.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., and private visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:30 First United Methodist Church, Garden City, Kansas, and burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, Kansas.

Manuel Richard Beltran Jr. will be remembered for the life he built, the work he did, the games he helped officiate, and the family he treasured most. His memory will remain in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, relatives, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
