Marilyn J. Andrews, 93, of Garden City, KS passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Catherine’s Hospital.   A Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 31st at the Chapel at Garden Valley Retirement Community, 1505 E. Spruce St.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Valley View Cemetery immediately following the service.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory be made to the Garden Valley Retirement Community – Independent Living or to Pierceville Federated Church.  Contributions may be left in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St. Garden City.

 

Marilyn was born April 8, 1930 to the late Lawrence and Janet (Rhodes) Roehrman in Hope, Kansas.  In the summer of 1942, her family moved to Leoti, KS where she graduated from Leoti High School in 1948.  After high school, Marilyn attended Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, KS.  She started her career at the Kansas Department of Transportation where she worked for 35 years before retiring in 1992.  Marilyn married Raymond E. Andrews on September 19, 1959 in Garden City.  She was a member of Pierceville Federated Church.

 

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2009; an infant son, Marlin Andrews; brother, Lee Roehrman and his wife Bobby.  Survivors include a daughter, Lorna Brown and husband Kent; son, Darrin Andrew and wife Angel; a sister Shirley White and husband Arthur; brother, Larry Roehrman; sister in law, Ruth Roehrman; 7 grandchildren, Fawn Andrews and husband George Ross; Ronnie Andrews; Brandon Andrews and Joy; Chanelle Andrews; Christopher Brown and wife Katy; William Brown; Andrew Brown; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
