Maukuku "Mike" Apelu
Maukuku Apelu, 66, of Rolla passed away December 10, 2021, Northwest Medical Center, Tucson, Arizona. He was born July 17, 1955, in Funafuti, Tuvalu. The son of Teagai and Lumepa (Lutelu) Apelu.
His hobbies included fishing, coin collecting, and truck driving. When his kids were little, he enjoyed taking them to the Astro baseball games.
Survivors include his two sons, Texas Apelu, and wife Cassie, Rolla, KS., Mark Apelu, Denver, CO.; one daughter, Lisa Barrow, and husband Tony, Gatesville, TX.; grandchildren, Aaron Houston, Austin Clay, and Tyson Dallas Apelu, Rolla, KS.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established for Rolla Hope in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 2 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton chapel, 314 S. Van Buren.
