Nicholas "Nick" Andrew Kitch, aged 47, left this world on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on February 21, 1978, in Garden City, Kansas, and was the cherished son of Scott Leon and Lanette Gae (Bentley) Kitch.
Nick had a heart as vast as the open plains he loved so dearly. He was a rare gem—kind, genuine, and always ready to share a warm hug or a hearty handshake. His welcoming smile could light up any room, and those fortunate enough to know him experienced his warmth and generosity firsthand.
A true cowboy at heart, Nick found immense joy in his horses, embracing the essence of western life through riding and training. His gentle spirit not only made him a remarkable cowboy but also a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He took great pride in caring for his parents, Scott and Lanette, who played an integral role in his life. Together, they created a family bond filled with love and support, traits deeply instilled in Nick and his sister, Megan.
His nephew and niece, Paden and Emmy, brought a sparkle to Nick's eyes; they were his inspiration and a source of endless joy. He loved playing games and sharing laughter with them, embodying the role of a dedicated big brother while fostering a strong connection with his extended family.
Nick now reunites with his beloved mother, Lanette Gae Kitch, along with his paternal grandparents, Harold R. and Dolly B. Kitch, and maternal grandparents, Tom and Geneva R. Bentley, at Heaven's Gates.
He is survived by his father, Scott Kitch of Rolla, KS; his sister, Megan Hall and her husband, Wade, of Elkhart, KS; his nephew, Paden Alan Hall; his niece, Emmy Elaine Hall; and numerous friends who held him close to their hearts.
A memorial has been established for the Nicholas A. Kitch Memorial Fund. The funds will be later determined where they are going to a local charity of choice by the family, in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home of Elkhart.
A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Elkhart, with burial to take place at Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kansas. Pastor Ed Richards will preside over the service.
