Norma LoDusky Tricks , 95 of Garden City died September, 19th 2023 at the Garden Valley Nursing Home, Garden City, Kansas.
Norma LoDusky Beathe was born on August 9, 1928, to Harold James Beathe and Grace Eulalia Johnson. She had one brother and two sisters. LoDusky attended grade school in Sycamore, Kansas. She graduated from Independence High School in 1946. She married Donald Dewayne Tricks on February 22, 1947, in Independence, Kansas. They had two children during their 51 year marriage. Don and Ducky moved from Independence to Lyons in 1949, and later they moved to Knob Noster, Mo., then to Chanute, Kansas. On October 9, 1952 they moved to Ulysses, Kansas. In 1987 Ducky and Don moved to Garden City.
Ducky worked as a dental assistant in Independence. Ducky worked as a secretary for Grant County Extension Service. She was the District Secretary for Grant County Conservation District for almost forty years and later the Finney County Conservation District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Ducky and Don were avid golfers, competing in numerous area tournaments. Ducky and Don were members of bridge clubs in Ulysses and Garden City. She was involved with Garden City Senior Center and a member of the Red Hat Ladies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Beth Tricks, brother Harold Beathe and wife Shirley, sister Patricia and Don Alexander, and special friends Sue Unger, Bob Simons and Max Miller.
She survived by her sons, Tom Tricks of Garden City and Bob and Katy Tricks of Ellis, Kansas; her sister Vonda Adelle Beathe of Tulsa, her sister-in-law Mary Jane and Eldon Gordon, four grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, and special friend Angie Smith.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, KS. Norma will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 under the direction of Potts Funeral Chapel, 122 S. Pennsylvania, Independence, KS. Memorials are suggested to the Garden City Senior Center.
