Phillip Boyd Hawkins, cherished husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, departed this life on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, Kansas, at the age of 72. Born on September 3, 1953, in Tularosa, New Mexico, he was the beloved son of Paskel “Pat” and Dorothy (Burns) Hawkins.
On January 27, 1974, Phillip united in marriage with Cheri Ann Williams, with whom he shared a life enriched by family, adventure, and enduring bonds. Known for his steadfast work ethic, Phillip dedicated many years as a truck driver for Premier Alfalfa in Hugoton. Beyond his profession, he was a man of many passions: a devoted family man who took joy in collecting piggy banks, coins, and remote-controlled cars. Phillip’s love of motorcycles was a treasured family affair, as he, Cheri, and their daughter Lora often rode together, weaving memories through shared journeys.
Phillip’s devotion to family was evident in the cherished trips he and Cheri took with Lora—to Las Vegas, Mexico, and numerous excursions to Colorado—each moment filled with love and laughter.
Survivors include his daughter Lora Farmer, granddaughter Temprynce Farmer, and sister Joyce Eckert, who, along with her husband David, all of Hugoton, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cheri; his parents, Pat and Dorothy; and his brothers, Rick and Carl; son-in-law, John Farmer. Phillip Boyd Hawkins leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and joyful memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
A celebration of Phillip’s life will be announced at a later date. Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton is honored to assist with the arrangements.
