Roxie Lynn (Albers) Pitts, 72, passed away on March 28, 2024, in Ingalls, Kansas. She was the daughter of Fred and Alice (Showers) Albers and was born in Syracuse, Kansas on October 11, 1951. Roxie was a beacon of love and selflessness throughout her life, leaving behind a legacy that will forever live.
Roxie's career path took her through various jobs, but her most cherished role was that of being a devoted mother and grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments revolved around her family, whom she held dear above all else. Roxie's genuine and loving personality shone brightly in everything she did, always putting others before herself.
Among the memories that will be forever treasured are the times spent chasing the ultimate rodeo momma and grandma title. She spent many years going to various organizations hauling the kids and then later watching the grandchildren. Roxie's hobbies included being an exceptional cook and baker, delighting not only her own family but also countless others with her culinary creations. She found great joy in spending time with her beloved sisters, forming bonds that were unbreakable.
Roxie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice, as well as her sisters Ethel Heady and Ann Smith. She is survived by her daughter Melissa VanderHamm and husband Scott; son Travis Pitts and wife Jodi, all of Ingalls, KS.; three brothers - Rick Albers and wife Nancy of Salt Lake City, UT; Randy Albers and wife Sue of Topeka, KS; James Albers and wife Christie of Bucyrus, KS; sister Jane Johnson and husband Don of Garden City, KS; brother-in-law, Tom Heady, Garden City, KS.; as well as four adoring grandsons - Jhett and Logan VanderHamm, Jaxson and Tryan Pitts.
A memorial has been established for Young Guns Rodeo Association, in the memo please put Roxie Pitts Scholarship. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846.
Visitations to honor Roxie's life will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home, 620 N. Main Street, Garden City, Kansas.
A funeral service will take place on April 5th at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 619 E. Mary Street, in Garden City. Followed by burial at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Roxie Lynn Pitts' presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved beyond measure.
