Ryon Dee Perschbacher, 48, of Kiowa, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023. The son of Dee Edward and Patsy Ann (Kirk) Perschbacher, he was born January 31, 1974, in Clayton, New Mexico. He was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many.
He and Brena Perschbacher were married on February 2, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union they had one daughter, Kate Lyn Perschbacher. The family traveled all over the Midwest Region together to many different rodeo associations and rodeos. Their time together was cherished by one another, you didn’t see one without the other two.
Ryon graduated from Clayton High School in 1993 in Clayton, New Mexico. During his high school years he was active in FFA, animal judging, and rodeo. He then went on and attended Clarendon College, in Clarendon, Texas.
After college he went on to be the rodeo coach of Dalhart High School in Dalhart, Texas. He was an active member of the Hayden Cowboy Club and the Amistad-Hayden Rural Fire Department in Hayden, New Mexico. Ryon enjoyed hunting and fishing but his favorite thing to do was help and guide kids in the sport of rodeo. Beyond rodeoing he enjoyed putting on goat ropings at different agricultural events. His life impacted many near and far and he will be missed by all of those who enjoyed his presence.
Ryon worked for BNSF Railway for 16 years. After BNSF he started his own tree trimming and welding business. He liked working for himself and building new things for others for them to enjoy.
He is survived by his wife, Brena Perschbacher; daughter, Kate Perschbacher both of Kiowa, KS.; mother, Patsy Perschbacher, Amarillo, TX.; sisters; Erin Mathis and husband Marty, Hayden, NM., and Dee Ann Woodward, Dumas, TX.; mother-in-law, Leslye Hayes, Dalhart, TX.; sister-in-law’s, Lacye Smallwood and husband Jordan, Dalhart, TX., Heather Hayes, Nocona, TX.; nieces and nephews, Dillon and Dawson Mathis, Hayden, NM., Maycee and Raylee Woodward, Dumas, TX., Barkley, Laramie, and Maegyn Hayes, Nocona, TX., Milam, Maebry, and Miles, Dalhart, TX.; and many other relatives and friends.
Ryon was preceded in death by his father, Dee Perschbacher; father-in-law, Bobby Hayes; brother-in-law, Billy Hayes.

Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 11 A.M. at the Kiowa Community Building, 119 S. 5th St., in Kiowa, Kansas with RW Hampton presiding.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11 A.M. (MTN Time) at the Amistad, New Mexico Community Building. Burial will follow at the God’s Acre Cemetery at 131 Hayden Road, in Hayden, New Mexico with Guy Winters presiding.
