Sandra Louise Schmidt, affectionately known as Sandy, was born on January 20, 1956, in Hugoton, Kansas. A lifelong resident of Hugoton, she spent her final years at Homestead Assistant Living in Garden City, Kansas, where she peacefully passed away on February 28, 2026.
Sandy's educational journey began in Hugoton, where she graduated from Hugoton High School in 1974, later continued her studies at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas. Her commitment to education laid the groundwork for her successful career. Sandy built a flourishing computer business in Hugoton, where she derived immense joy from helping others and sharing her knowledge with the community.
With a vivacious spirit, Sandy was known for her happy demeanor and her love for music, particularly rock and roll. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, finding boundless joy in her role as their grandmother. Sandy took great pride in her family, and her children and grandchildren were among her proudest accomplishments in life.
She is survived by her children, Kelli Littrell and husband Dakota of Cimarron, Kansas, and Kiefer Schmidt of Liberal, Kansas. Sandy also leaves behind five adoring grandchildren: Tyler, Haven, Kynlee, Kyndra, and Hayden. Additionally, she is survived by two brothers, Tom Oder and wife Leslie of Hugoton, Kansas, and Fred Oder and Patricia of Amarillo, Texas; as well as two sisters, Carrie Williams and husband Jay of Elkhart, Kansas, and Linda Kates and husband Rick of Garden City, Kansas, along with other relatives and friends who will remember her kind heart and joyful spirit.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, who laid a foundation of love and support throughout her life. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will be felt deeply by all who knew her.
Memorials have been established for Homestead Assisted Living of Garden City; in care of Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, Kansas 67951.
Book Signing will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton, and burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas.
