Simeon Nectali Martinez Vega

Simeon Nectali Martinez Vega, 62 years old of Ulysses, passed away January 5, 2023, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was the son of Simeon and Elsa (Vega) Martinez; Simeon Jr. was born December 14, 1960, in Olanchito, Yoro, Honduras. 

Nectali was a loving man who enjoyed attending church at Templo Emmanuel Church in Ulysses and listening to Christian music. He loved being around his family and seeing the laughter and joy in all his nieces and nephews, as he called them. He was very hard-working; he remodeled his home and enjoyed doing mechanical work. He was full of joy and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. 

He is survived by his wife, Lurbin Martinez, of the home; mother, Elsa Vega; two sons, Exel Martinez and Jari Martinez; one daughter, Raquel Martinez; four brothers, Elvin Martinez, Alex Martinez, Renan Martinez, and Carlos Martinez; three sisters, Elma Martinez, Mirna Martinez, Gladys Martinez; and many other relatives and friends. 

Nectali was preceded in death by his father.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home, 218 S. Main Street, Ulysses, Kansas. 

Funeral services will take place in his hometown in Honduras.
