Sixto Cruz Perez, a devoted farmer whose life was deeply rooted in the rich soil of Mexico and cherished by his family. He passed away on April 30, 2026, in Hugoton, Kansas. He was born on August 6, 1936, in Guanajunato, Mexico, to Modesto and Eufracia Perez. Sixto lived a life marked by dedication to his farm, a love for music and western movies, and the simple joy he found in cutting firewood.
In 1957, Sixto married Juana Guerrero in Guanajuato, Mexico, a partnership that stood as a testament to enduring love and commitment. Together, they built a family that blossomed with several generations, touching many lives with their warmth and kindness.
Sixto’s legacy is carried forward by his son, Guillermo Cruz of Seminole, Texas; and his three daughters, Cripina Cruz and Martin of Mexico, Patricia Cruz and Gerardo of Mexico, and Olga Cruz and Serafin of Rolla, Kansas. His life was further enriched by the presence of 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, alongside a host of relatives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, wife, Juana Guerrero and several dear children: Modesto, Isabel, Rosalia, Lilia, and Alonso. His great-grandson, Jonathan Cruz, also preceded him, leaving cherished memories for the family to hold close.
Services to honor Sixto’s life will begin with a visitation on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home - Hugoton, located at 314 South Van Buren Street, Hugoton, Kansas.
Rosary will be held on Monday evening at St. Helen Catholic Church, 1011 S Jefferson St, Hugoton, from 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, Hugoton. Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, Kansas.
Sixto Cruz Perez’s life was a testament to hard work, devotion to family, and the simple pleasures of a well-lived life. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew him.
