Steven Lee Ross

Steven Lee Ross, aged 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his residence in Texhoma, Oklahoma. Born on February 8, 1953, in Guymon, Oklahoma, he was the son of Alvin Wayne and Barbara Mae (Sutton) Ross.

Steven dedicated much of his career to the Texas County Road and Bridge Department before retiring. He had a deep passion for ranching, particularly raising and trading cattle, chickens, and goats in the Oklahoma Panhandle. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time at the lake. He was a proud graduate of Texhoma High School, class of 1972.

He was an active member of the Texhoma First Baptist Church in Texhoma, Oklahoma.

Steven is survived by his daughter, Brandi Wiesen, and her husband, Sam Stephens of Tuscola, Texas; his son, Bradley Ross of Dodge City, Kansas; two brothers, Jim Ross and his wife Theresa of Texhoma, Texas, and Mike Ross of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one grandson, Brayden Wiesen, and his wife Anna; great-granddaughter Leddi Jay Wiesen; his companion, Jayne Smith; several nieces and nephews, Nathan Ross of Newark, Delaware; Jeremy Ross and wife Andrea of Mundelein, Illinois; Jason Ross and his wife Lisa, of Altus, Oklahoma; Micah Ross Baker and husband Jason of Owasso, Oklahoma; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Barbara Ross.

A memorial service to honor Steven’s life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Texhoma Cemetery in Texhoma, Texas. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. Arrangements are being overseen by Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton.
