Wade Scott "Pete" Woods, a respected figure and devoted family man, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Ulysses, Kansas, at the age of 72. Born on April 29, 1953, to Walter B. Woods and Evelyn Louise (Parks) Woods, in Plainview, Texas, Wade led a life characterized by hard work, passion, and a love for the simple pleasures.

Throughout his career, Wade was known for his commitment and strong work ethic, spending many years in excavation and various hands-on jobs. His dedication to his work was a testament to his character and values.

Outside of work, Wade had a wealth of interests that brought him joy. A lover of motorcycles, he particularly enjoyed working on his Honda Gold Wing. He had a deep appreciation for travel and often embraced the opportunity to visit new places. In addition, he relished playing the occasional game of pool and had a fondness for restoring old cars, with a special passion for the iconic '57 Chevy. His fascination with WWII airplanes also highlights a unique aspect of his personality, reflecting a curiosity about history and engineering.

Pete is survived by his son, Scott Woods, and his wife, Elizabeth; two stepsons, Ryan Hamilton and Ralph Hamilton; two stepdaughters, Rebecca and Rachel; one sister, Wilma Handley; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Boese and her husband, Austin, and Katherine VanFleete. He will be deeply missed by his family and many other relatives and friends who cherish his memory.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice Bradshaw, and his brother Gordon Lee Woods. Each of these losses has left a lasting impact on those who loved him, contributing to the legacy of compassion and strength that he leaves behind.

As we remember Wade Scott Woods, we honor the life he led, filled with love, laughter, and a relentless pursuit of his passions. His spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.

Pete's Family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
