Maria Ymelda Contreras, 93, died on January 18, 2015, at The Legacy at Parkview, Ulysses, Kansas.
The daughter of Canuto Garza & Librada (Tijerina) Ortiz, she was born July 29, 1921 at Casa Blanc, Texas.
She and Jacinto Contreras were married in 1946, Orange County, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1994.
Survivors include three sons, Mario Contreras & wife Delores, Pratt, KS, Regino Contreras & wife Nancy, Bakerfield CA, John Henry Contreras, Sandusky, OH; a daughter, Mary Jane Knepp & husband Mike, Harrisburg, PA; three sisters, Emma Rivera, Orange Grove, TX; Blanca Alvarado, CA, Olga Candy, May, TX; 18 Grandchildren, Many Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers Ramiro, Luis, Roberto, Reynaldo and Raul Ortiz, two sisters, Dora Alvarado and Armandina Daiz.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1PM at Oasis Church, Ulysses, Kansas.
Funeral Mass Service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2014 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky, Ohio and burial at Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, Ohio.
